This bearing is used in components located near industrial furnaces.
Since any contact with oil would be unacceptable, metal bearings could not be used. Therefore, a grease-free bearing solution with high temperature resistance was required.
As the bearing is exposed to hot air of approximately 250°C near the furnace, it was determined that even high-performance materials such as PEEK might not be sufficient. For this reason, a carbon bearing with heat resistance up to 350°C was proposed.
This bearing can operate without lubrication, preventing contamination of the product.
In conventional carbon bearings, the cage cannot be made of carbon and is therefore typically manufactured from plastic. However, plastic cages have limited heat resistance, so a full complement design without a cage was proposed.
This configuration reduces the components to only the raceways and balls, eliminating dependence on the thermal limits of a plastic cage.
The balls are made of ceramic, providing sufficient hardness to match the carbon raceways.
In addition to carbon solutions, we also offer full complement ceramic bearings, where both the raceways and the balls are made entirely of ceramic.
This zirconia ceramic bearing offers heat resistance up to 400°C.
Due to the full complement design, it is not suitable for high-speed applications, but it is ideal for use in high-temperature environments. Please feel free to contact us for further details.
Whether you want to reduce the number of components for easier installation, machine grooves to match your product, implement a double-flanged design, consolidate 2 bearings into 1, or add special cut-outs — we can accommodate a wide range of requests based on the idea of “the exact bearing you need”.
