Our plastic bearings have been used in the process of cleaning and drying retort packages.
Originally, metal bearings with a plastic coating were used. The production line for retort packages here uses tap water for cleaning and goes through a drying oven process. Due to the use of water, metal bearings face the problem of grease being washed out and rust formation.
Furthermore, tap water contains calcium carbonate, so when passing through the drying oven after cleaning while still wet, calcium carbonate adheres inside the bearing, leading to faulty rotation.
Therefore, we proposed the use of UHMWPE, which is non-sticky, and designed the shape of the bearings to be easy to clean. Since there is no housing, it is also easier to clean, as calcium carbonate does not easily deposit inside the bearing and settle in the grooves.
Additionally, it is possible to assemble with flat head screws, which is why there is a countersink in the inner bore.
